Damn, I'm not sure I could do that with my Mk.7. When I got my winter tires I had already folded the seats down for the mechanic to throw the tires back there. I'll make sure to try to fit them when I get new wheels/tires this summer.

It was a VERY close fit, with almost no clearance on any side. I know the MkV had a slightly smaller trunk and couldn't do it, but I'm not sure where trunk sizes went from there.

I think I'd be fine width-wise but might be compromised lengthwise. The Mk7 is slightly longer, lower and wider than the Mk V/VI but I still think it might be too tight to fit. I imagine the rear seat space has probably improved since the Mk. IV which probably cuts into the trunk space. If I remember I'll grab a tire when I get home and see how it fits.

That is why I have always loved the hatch foxbody mustangs. I could fit a set of wheels with slicks on them a few lawn chairs and a cooler or two for a day at the drags.

Ha, my car doesn't work with more than 2 adults in any case. I took the rear seats out to have more cargo room. Until Bird got his Bronco, my car was the biggest one we had, the other 3 being Miatas.

It's more than fine width-wise but I while I can close the hatch, it's not too happy about it and is pushing on the latch. If the tires were mounted and inflated, this wouldn't be happening.
